Product updates

July 25th, 2007

A few of you have been bold enough to use the contact form and ask about the new product lineup we detailed earlier this spring. We’re currently working on finalizing some of the new lineup, and are also looking into a few brands we hadn’t talked about before. We hope the expansion in selection will meet your needs.

New products

April 15th, 2007

There are a few new styles available now, including the plum and patent carry alls. They look great. We’ll be expanding our line this summer so keep writing in with any suggestions and thanks for all the dialogue since our start.

Have a site or blog? Get $5 off your purchase

March 8th, 2007

We’re going to try a new promotion. If you run a website or have a blog, you can place a link to the Hoobaby store on your site (in a post, article, or even your sidebar) and receive a $5 payment through PayPal after purchasing a bag.

For example, you could use any of the following links in your page (capitalize as you see fit, just copy and paste what’s below):

<a href="http://www.hoobaby.com">OiOi diaper bag</a>
<a href="http://www.hoobaby.com">designer diaper bag</a>
<a href="http://www.hoobaby.com">diaper bag</a>

Use the contact form to let us know when you’ve placed a link. We’ll verify it and then send you $5. If you have already purchased a bag, you can still get the discount. We do reserve the right to refuse any sites that don’t fit well with our goals and ideals, of course.

We’re limiting this to those that have purchased from us because we want people who are invested in the product in a real way. You’re our best advertisement.

Blue Dot Messenger Out of Stock

March 7th, 2007

The Ink Blue Dot Messenger bag has sold out and won’t be returning. The pink variant is ready to go though.

New Additions to the Family

January 23rd, 2007

We’re excited to offer a few new styles. A great new backpack style diaper bag is available–the blue floral bouquet backpack. We also have the blue floral messenger if that’s a diaper bag style you like more.

The blue dot hobos are sleek, and you can also get that print in messenger style.

The oriental posey changing mat looks great, and there’s a similar hobo to go with it.

The pink floral bags are really exciting. They look gorgeous. You can get them in hobo style as well as messenger. There are additional pictures of each on their product pages–check them out!

Finally, there’s the pink ink dot line. These are classics. There’s the hobo diaper bag and the messenger bag.

Thanks for shopping!

Videos of the Black Canvas Carry All Bag

January 19th, 2007

The Black Canvas Eyelet Carry All bag has been a popular choice (as has been its sister, the Floral Carry All). While the Floral Carry All is currently on backorder, you can get an idea of how it looks by viewing these videos of the Black Canvas Carry All.

First up, a video of the bag from the outside. Turn down your speakers if you don’t want to hear the background music. You can see the carry all handles as well as an adjustable shoulder strap. There are several pockets on the outside too.

Now for a video of the inside. It doesn’t help that the interior fabric is dark, but you can still get an idea of what it looks like inside.

The items pulled out are included with purchase. In order, they are: the padded changing mat, the insulated bottle holder (hooked to the carabiner for your keys in the video), and the wet pouch.

The background music is Sugar Baby Love by the Rubettes. It sounded happy and beat the heck out of listening to us shuffling around.

Finding a use for your Diaper Bag after Diapers

January 15th, 2007

A well designed diaper bag from any of the top manufacturers (OiOi, Skip Hop, Fleurville, Dante Beatrix, etc) will likely outlast the time your baby is in diapers. When that time comes, it certainly doesn’t mean the end of using your diaper bag. In fact, just drop the diaper part from the name altogether; what you really have is a great bag.

Free up some interior room by taking out your insulated bottle holder and your changing mat. You now have lots of space (few items are as voluminous as diapers, mats, bottles…) for other things.

Here are a few of the most popular after-diapers uses people find for their beloved bags:

  • Beach bag plenty of room for a folded towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottles, and a good book
  • Travel bag great for holding a laptop, a change of clothes, and some toiletries
  • Scrapbooking tote hold your books, scissors, markers, razors, magazines, and layouts.
  • Gym bag sure, why not. Shoes on one side, clothes on the other.
  • Game bag It’s not like the kids disappeared. They’re just older. Keep some games (classics, Game Boy, coloring books, puzzles, and other toys).

Alex and Jett Custom T Shirts

October 3rd, 2006

While teens and adults have places like Threadless to get their custom tees, kids don’t have a place to get their own. Alex and Jett seeks to change that with their line of custom printed t-shirts for kids. From the site:

Alex&Jett offers premium 100% cotton t-shirts with playful graphics for boys and girls. Unlike mass-produced t-shirts, each Alex&Jett t-shirt is unique. The illustrations are available in many kid-pleasing color combinations and are whimsically personalized with your child’s name, year and place of birth.
